Digital ticket system
With SisTIQ, guests can use a train even outside normal operating times with the help of a smartphone. Via QR code, they purchase the ticket on site and set the train in motion. No additional infrastructure is necessary.
Infrastructure
Only a QR code is needed in the stations to pay for a ticket and trigger a journey. The whole thing is controlled via the SisControl Cockpit in the cloud.
Transparency
Compared to conventional token operation, it is possible on the basis of the login to record who has used the system, and those living on the mountain, for example, can be billed on a monthly basis accordingly.
Dynamic fares
The digital recording and billing process means that a completely dynamic ticketing system can be set up. For example, a higher fare may be set for journeys outside normal operating times.
Digital token operation
Small ropeways today often use a coin-operated automatic ticket machine (token operation) which allows the guests to travel on the train even outside the usual operating times. However, obtaining the coins/tokens and checking the use of the system is relatively expensive.
With SisTIQ, guests can now also use the train outside the usual operating times with their smartphone. Using a mobile phone, a QR code can easily be scanned at the valley, middle or mountain station and then a driving command can be triggered. Payment is made via Twint, a web shop or voucher code. On-site infrastructure is not required, just a QR code for scanning.
This digitisation allows the operating concept of the railway to be made much more flexible and the price model can be adapted individually. Billing (e.g. to residents of the mountain who have a season ticket) can be prepared monthly on the basis of the actual use. SisTIQ also makes it easier to organise the transport of goods or the delivery of vouchers from restaurants to guests who still need to return by train in the evening.
